Hertz is attempting for another bid for Dollar Thrifty

CEO of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. Mr. Scott Thompson said, Hertz is "getting closer" to win the Federal Trade Commission approval of a proposed merger with Dollar Thrifty.

Second Biggest rental car company of Unites Status 'Hertz' is trying to take over 4th biggest Dollar thrifty since long. In last five years this is the nth attempt from Hertz to buy Dollar thrifty. However, one may say 3rd serious effort after two big bids of $1.45 Billion and $2 Billion Dollar. This time Hertz likely to revive Dollar Thrifty bid within weeks and supposed to be the killer bid.

Time will tell if this merger would help Hertz in stepping towards #1 rental car company in US.
