    Try this
when you cannot boot to Windows XP after installing Windows 7

    1. Open an command prompt.

    2. Type the following to create a boot loader for Windows XP.
    bcdedit /create {ntldr} /d "Windows XP"

    3. Type the following to set the device to where Windows XP is installed. I used D: in this example. Replace it with the drive letter of your XP installation.
    bcdedit /set {ntldr} device partition=D:

    4. Type the following to set the path.
    bcdedit /set {ntldr} path \ntldr

    5. Type the following to add this boot loader to the boot up screen.
    bcdedit /displayorder {ntldr} /addlast

    6. Reboot the computer.

I hope this will help you ?

    Hi mahesh, Thankyou

    I did above mentioned steps

Now i am getting o.s selection menu at startup but when i select windows xp sp3 i am not able to log in and it gives error .I am able to log in in windows 7.I think there is some problem in path for sp3 i.e /ntldr because there is no such file in my sp3 drive.

I used easybcd software and it is giving information about boot manager as below.

if any of your friend has same motherboard as you then from his C drive copy the file ntldr and paste it in your drive where xp sp3 is installed.

    hi yadavundertaker,

I am having msi-k9n2gmfih MB but as none of my friend has same MB so i took copy of ntldr from my friend having intel MB after pasting that file in my sp3 drive i tried to reboot so when i tried to login sp3 it restarts pc and before i pasted that ntldr file it used to give error regarding ntldr.

Is there any other way to solve this problem ?
