Hi friends you might have seen this cable often in all areas, but did you noticed why there is a cylindrical long shaped black bead kept in cables likes USB..etc. for what purposes it used.

Here the solution:
A black cylindrical shaped bead called as ferrite bead is a passive electric component that suppresses high frequency noise in electronic circuits.
It is a specific type of electronic choke.
Ferrite beads employ the dissipation of high frequency currents in a ferrite ceramic to build high frequency noise suppression devices.
It will reduce EMI( electro magnetic induction) inside the cables.

#-Link-Snipped-#, EMI in this context is Electro Magnetic Interference. Electro magnetic induction is the generation of electro motive force when a conductor is subject to varying magnetic field, which is a different thing.

Anyway, a ferrite bead in a way helps maintain EMC - electromagnetic compatibility and reduce EMI - electromagnetic interference in a system. Ideally a system should be functional in a noise filled environment and shouldn't emit any noise that might interfere with other systems/sub-systems.

Ferrite beads, shielded cables, connector backshells, proper grounding, EMI gaskets, EMI filters, EMI honeycomb ventelation panels are some of the many ways followed to improve EMC and reduce EMI.
