    We all know that google covers a significant market in search engines. Here and there, we all uses search engine (Specifically mentioning Google) in our daily life. This thread is dedicated for the tips for effective googling tips, so that you can acheive your intended in a faster and effective way. I hope contributions from all to add tips for effective search on Google:

    PS: Please mentioned tip number in front of your Trick:

    Here I go:

    1. Insert the string in double quotes; This will search exact text available on Web
    Example: "In 1974 they reconized", If we enter this text with in double quotes Google will search for entire string as a single string, and will show only the web pages links which have this exact string.

    TIP 2
    To limit your search to a specific website, type site:sitename.com/

    For example, try project site:crazyengineers.com/
    This will return results from crazyengineers.com and its subdomains only.

    TIP 3
    To search for a specific type of file over the internet, use the filetype filter
    Example : linux filetype: pdf The search results you get from this will include only pdf files

    To get a dictionary meaning write Define: <Word>

    Example: define: euphoria, would give the dictionary meaning of Euphoria.

    Tip 5
    To get the weather of your city type weather cityname

    Example: weather delhi
    This will give you the current weather conditions for delhi

    Tip 6

    Google search incorporates a calcutator and unit convertor. Try the following calculations:

    sqrt(9)*56=

    or,

    convert 5 feet to meter

    Whenever we write any query in Google’s search box and click on “I’m Feeling Lucky” button, we automatically redirected to the FIRST result of the Google’s database of the entered query. 😀

    name of topic filetype:extension

    ie doc or ppt or whichever you want
