Google 'Waves' A Doodle At Heinrich Rudolf Hertz On His 155th Birthday!
Google dedicates today's doodle in the fond remembrance of the German physicist, Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, the first person ever to transmit and receive radio waves. His research opened up many areas leading to the development of TV, radio and radar. Owing to this, the unit of frequency has been respectfully named after him- Hertz(one cycle per second).

Heinrich Rudolf Hertz(1857-1894)
Hertz's experiment involved two rods, serving as receivers and the spark gap serving as an antenna. Sparks could be easily noticed in this oscillator wherever the waves met. With this experiment, Hertz could prove that the signals/waves had electromagnetic properties. He practically presented Maxwell's theories, and was also able to make electric and magnetic fields come off from wires, and then moving as Maxwell waves. Hertz died young(36)on New Year's Eve 1894, after being infected by a blood disorder.
Here's a look at Google's doodle for this electrifying genius - (This is Google's 1308th doodle so far!)
