Google Voice Search Now Recognizes Indian Accent - A Billion Sighs Of Relief
At the event, Sandeep Menon, Head of Marketing, Google India, demonstrated the working of Voice Search technology for users with an Indian accent. Google said in the release that 700 volunteers in India were asked to read most popular search queries in different acoustic conditions like in restaurants, on busy streets and at many other places in order to reflect real life events. Google then worked on these samples of spoken instructions. The support for search is still limited to English Language.
Voice Search via Google Search app requires Android 2.3+ or above, and is also available for iOS devices. Voice Search is available for computers via chrome browser. You have to first select Indian accent by changing the settings in Voice Search.The following steps need to be followed to change the settings.

Google Now, which supports Indian English will better understand the Indian accent after this newly incorporated accent feature. Google Now gives the right information at the right time about todayâs weather, traffic status and much more. The voice technology can also be used for sending SMS or sending an email. If you are writing an email using google keyboard then you can dictate your content along with certain commands like new paragraph, etc.
