Google Unveils Its Self-Driving Car, For Real

In the summer we informed you that Google Google Builds Its First Self-Driving Car; Without Steering Wheel, Accelerator & Brakes, Of Courseof its self-driving cars and showed you an artist’s rendering of the final product. Today Google has proudly unveiled the real life version of the car #-Link-Snipped-#. This complete product (now equipped with headlamps) has not yet gotten rid of its prototype tag yet. Google’s test drivers will be leaving the test track and travelling in the self-driving car on the streets of Northern California with temporary manual controls to see how the car fares in the real world.

On a lighter note, Matthew Inman, the creator of the Oatmeal series managed to get a ride on the final prototype and 6 things I learned from riding in a Google Self-Driving Car - The Oatmeal he had to say about Google autonomous car.

    Loved what Oatmeal had to say about the topic. I was traveling quite a bit over the weekend and realized that on Indian roads, it's all about sneaking out of the way as fast as possible. When in traffic, auto rickshaw drivers hurling abusive comments to car drivers or bike riders is a common sight. Only in a situation of 99% discipline can these self-driving cars work, right?
