Google Email Intervention - Are You Suggesting Gmail To Friends?

I woke up today morning and typed gmail.com & I saw a video beside the login window.
It takes you to 'Google Email Intervention' Page.

Here's what Google says:

You’ve probably already improved the lives of your friends and family members by helping them switch to Gmail, but what about that one friend who still hasn’t made the switch? It’s time to take a stand and stage an intervention.

I am wondering why will Google do that? I guess they were feeling lucky today. 😁
