Google Chrome 39.0.2171.65 - The 64 Bit Awesomeness Comes To OSX
Google's just announced the availability of Google Chrome V. 39.0.2171.65 for OSX - the stable version of Chrome that adds 64-bit support. The latest version, which should have been installed on your Mac by now (if you are using Chrome) brings number of new apps and extension APIs and promises to be a lot more stable and efficient. Refer to the official Google Blog (link below) to get the details about the changes and bug fixes in the latest build of Chrome.
Back in August, Google had announced 64-bit version of Google Chrome for Windows 7 and 8 operating systems, but left the OSX users behind. The 64-bit Chrome will load faster on your machines and also introduce better memory management features. It's also important to note that Google will be dropping 32-bit support; which means that the old Intel Macs will have to be happy with the version 38.
The 64-bit Chrome can be downloaded directly from Google's official website. For several of the users, Chrome's reporting 'up to date' even with version 38. You might have to wait a little longer.
