Gmail Testing QR Code Based Login?

I'm not a big fan of QR codes, but it seems that Gmail is testing QR code based login mechanisms. The tests aren't available now, but mashable has a video demonstrating the same - #-Link-Snipped-#

    I have seen these codes on some products. Android apps are there to read and provide product information.
    I think google trying his luck to overtake every internet aspect. after becoming search synonym they added peosonal search and now you need android phone to login gmail for best support.
