Glowing Light Bulb Levitating In Mid-Air Is An Electrical Engineer's Project

Imagine a thousand glowing light bulbs floating in mid-air, supposedly over a lake. How awesome would the view be? It could now be possible to do that thanks to a project by Chris Rieger, an electrical engineering student from University of Queensland. Being fascinated by the concept, he started his research to figure out that a combination of the two technologies - wireless power transfer and magnetic levitation would do the trick. For the levitating the bulb, he modified an existing circuit built by #-Link-Snipped-# and for building a wireless power transfer he made changes to the circuit design by Miniature wireless power demonstrator / Projects / Forums | 4hv.org.

The system Chris has developed works wonderfully well and he called it 'LevLight'. He also has already begun building a new levitator to have a greater strength and a better control system. You can check the details of this project #-Link-Snipped-# and see the video below to see this glowing light bulb floating in mid-air. Truly amazing, we say.
