Global Home Automation via Raspberry Pi
Project Abstract / Summary : In a world where every electronic device can be connected to each other, we take a step further by bringing this into the physical world. Our project takes the idea of home automation to a global level, where a simple device connected to you switch board can be controlled from any place across the globe, using a smartphone and a mini-computer called Raspberry Pi. This is the power of Internet of things. A world where all devices physical or virtual, are in our total control remotely, is our dream!
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : IoT is the emerging concept in the field of computer science and electronics. The reason being growth of information technology. Everyone has a smartphone and an internet connection, why not use this technology to harness something greater.
Big companies like Intel and Cisco are now eventually focusing on the concept of IoT. With advanced data analytics and processing, we can get tremendous amount of synchronization between the devices in the physical world.
