Getting Closer To Flying

Who says only kids follow super heroes, actually we the grown ups put all efforts to bring the fictions put up by these super heroes to reality. I am talking about the movies like Iron Man, Batman Superman etc. These movies not only amuse us but have also made many to work over the unreal technologies. One of them is individually flying with help of some small sized kit.

Recently a new product being launched is a Jetlev Flyer. We do tend to expend a lot on water sports and adventure, this is just a combination of both and is one of the incredible invention of 21st century. Water is not the fuel in this but it is used for propulsion. It has a 4 stroke engine and water nozzle reaction force for stable and controlled flight. It is quite a light weight and stylish design. The flyer can carry a person of weight ranging from 40 to 150 kg and height of 1.50-2.00m. For safety and performance only high quality material is used. It can cruise for about 1-2 hours easily. It can fly up to an altitude of 10m and has a top speed of 35 kmph. It has a high power to weight ratio and for that propulsion source is attached to a separate boat like unit.

As we all know safe diving from height of 10m is practiced from quite some time so it is not at all hazardous for the user and on the other hand risks of falling are very less with this flyer. It has a flexible water supply hose which supplies pressurized water to the flyer. This hose helps in providing a flight ceiling, reducing the vibrations while flight and even avoid the flyer to move towards land. It has simple controls like forward, reverse, neutral, up and down. The metal required for this is either made from stainless steel or hard coat anodized aluminum with Teflon coating to avoid rusting and abrasion.

Technical details:

Weight: approximately 14 Kg.

Maximum Thrust: 1900N.

Thrust to weight for a 68 kg person: 2.3:1

Top speed: 35 kmph.

Hose length: 10m.

Flight ceiling: 8.5m.

Flight while open throttle: 1 hour.

Duration while cruising speed: 1-2 hours approximately.

Looking at this first thought that comes to mind is when can we get our hands on the flyer. A lot of years has been spent on testing this and make it very safe for the users but still many precautions and tutorials are required before enjoying the flight.
