    I assume you mean a waveform generator? A piece of equipment that has sine, sawtooth, square, etc waveforms at various amplitudes and frequencies that can be injected into another circuit to test the response?

    Well, you will need a design that includes a timebase, and circuitry that can generate sine waves and modify them into sawtooth, etc.
