    Hi Everyone,

I need to interface a 3.3v FPGA board with some 5v components - in both directions (i.e FPGA -> TTL and vice versa)

Currently i am looking at this device to do it: #-Link-Snipped-#

From my understanding it is bidirectional and will suit my needs..

is this correct, or would i need 2 separate devices?

    Thanks for all your help!

u can use transceiver buffers.....it'll convert the signal to FPGA level...
    use this device SN74LVC8T245 😁

    Cheers,

Can this work from the FPGA to TTL level?

    Hi,

Just to clarify on one point, would i set the IO standard on the FPGA to LVCMOS for use with this buffer? , also, is the device 5v tolerant on its IOpins?

    Thanks!

u pls confirm to the datasheet about setting the voltage....but dont worry about fpga pins, u assign all the outputs as LVCMOS 3.3v while assigning UCF to ur design......
