FOSDEM'14 Special : Building Tizen Device At Home.

Leon Anavi, the professional opensource software engineers and regular contributor to QtTizen & Tizen project, is one of the speakers at FOSDEM'14 conference which is taking place in Brussels. Leon Anavi demonstrated the DIY guide on building Linux Kernel, Tizen platform image from scratch, creating opensource hardware device using AllWinner development board and running Tizen on top of it. TizenOS is an opensource Linux based software with registered trademark of The Linux Foundation whose development progress is governed by industry giants like Intel & Samsung. TizenOS is multi-platform software which is engineered to work in smartphones, tablets, Smart-Tvs, Personal computers & in-vehicle infotainment devices.

Allwinner Sunxi, the Chinese made ARM SoC with it's cheap Cortex-A8 A10 SoC is used for building Tizen based device at home. Leon Anavi, briefly covered every details from assembling Tizen device using opensource hardware components like AllWinner development board, microSD card, LCD display & LiPo battery, to building linux-sunxi & setting up uboot bootloader.

The technical information regarding building Tizen ARMv7 image by installing Tizen development tools, downloading Tizen source code, building ARMv7 compatible rpm packages & creating Tizen image were covered briefly. TizenOS is already been ported for A10S-OLinuXino-Micro & Leon have already showcased TizenOS running tablet in Youtube.
