The company that proudly writes its motto as 'We're building a better Internet', Mozilla Corp has finally unveiled a preview of it browser Firefox for iOS users in New Zealand. The roll out will be done gradually and the purpose behind this region-specific launch is to collect feedback before going global on the App Store. The user feedback will be used to modify existing features, fix bugs and build new functionality.

Around 3 months back, the Mozilla developer team had shared that though they can’t bring the full Firefox experience and rendering engine to iOS due to the restrictions, with the all new iOS 8, they felt helpful and had began developing the platform for the Apple devices. They were steadily sharing their source code on Github and had declared to launch a limited Firefox for iOS Beta soon. Keeping with its promise, the community has released the Preview in NZ. The company announced the preview launch via an Firefox for iOS Now Available for Preview - Future Releases and also gave a sneak peek into the features that we can look forward to.

To begin with, there's Intelligent Search that gives smart suggestions based on what you are typing. Then there's 'Firefox Accounts' so that you can manage your browser's tabs, history or even saved passwords from any device be it a desktop or an iOS device. In the Firefox for iOS Preview, there's a new addition called 'Visual Tabs' that brings an intuitive way to manage all your open tabs. Lastly, there's provision for giving your feedback from right within the app. There's a numeric tab icon on the top right corner of the app. You just need to tap the “Settings” menu on the top left and go to “Support” to send your feedback to the developers.

It wasn't exactly a surprise that Firefox has finally arrived on iOS, since the rumours have been making the rounds of the tech community for quite some time. We are anticipating a global launch in December 2015. Till then, let us know your thoughts about the new Firefox for iOS app via comments below.
