Facebook To Challenge Google By Introducing Smartphones By Next Year?
After two failed attempts of getting into the mobile market by introducing smartphones, Facebook is determined to get its own branded smartphone by next year. Facebook's last attempt to partner with HTC and bring out a smartphone code named 'Buffy' seems still to be on the cards, but the social networking giant isn't done here yet. According to #-Link-Snipped-#, Facebook is hiring ex-Apple employees and engineers, who had worked on iPhones and iPads, to expand and work on its smartphone project.

Upon being asked, Facebook didn't accept or deny the rumours but pointed out that they are working with other hardware and application developers across mobile industry. The newly formed public company is trying it's best not to leak out the smartphone project and isn't even posting job listings on its site, rather is busy in finding the best of talents with experience in building smartphones.
By bringing out its own smartphone, Facebook will seem to directly challenge Google's Android for low end smartphone users. Even if the plan fails in any way, Facebook has enough cash to buy out a smartphone manufacturer (may be RIM) and get along with its attempt of getting into the mobile market. With hardware giants like HP and Dell failing to make an impact, it would be interesting to see how Facebook makes out of what it has learnt from the mistakes of others.
