Facebook Teams With Websense To Kick Off Malicious URLs

Facebook now officially teamed with the internet security provider #-Link-Snipped-# to protect its users from getting attacked by threatening malicious URL's. As Facebook become the Internet centric for the last few years, more services and startups crowded towards it. Also the malicious malware distribution campaigns, survey scams keeps on surrounding the Facebook to attack the Facebook through URL's, as Facebook got a huge population to get attacked easily.

#-Link-Snipped-#For years now Facebook is keep on fighting with those threats to keep their users safe. But, they cannot handle them as the attack becomes more and comes in different ways. To keep the 800 million users of the network safe from its own redirecting service, Facebook already joined hands with "Web of Trust (WOT)", a service that provides ratings to URL's based on the reviews from a community of users who installed WOT browser extension. This cannot be much of a help to Facebook in this instantly changing internet to keep track on the URL's along with its own database of URL's.

The teaming up with Websense makes sense as they provide real-time details about URL's and can easily detect the malicious and threatening URL's. Also, from 2009 Websense partnered with a URL shortening service #-Link-Snipped-# to detect the threatening URL's which has shortened. Facebook - WOT partnership is not getting affected by this new partnership. The below picture could explain a bit about how Websense could secure Facebook users.

I know that most of the Facebook users were being attacked by the malicious URL's and some of my friends too got their whole OS damaged through these attacks. What is your say in it, "Could Facebook be more secure than before with these new services?", I'll see you in comment section.
