Facebook's Skype Powered Video Chat Launches On July 6
This isn't the first time such news has sprung up. Even in past, there were news about Skype and Facebook closely working together to launch a video chat product. This product, would give a huge boost to Skype whose current user base is at 170 million worldwide. Facebook, on the other hand is very big with over 750+ million users. Once Facebook rolls out the product to all its users, Skype's usage and adoption is likely to surge - which is a great news for #-Link-Snipped-#and bad news for Google.
Google recently launched assault on Facebook by launching the #-Link-Snipped-# service. Google+ integrates a Skype competitor called 'Google +Hangouts' - which offers multi-person video chat withing what's called Google +Circles. We don't know whether the new Facebook Video Chat product will support group chat - but it likely will, because that's what giving Google an edge right now. And if it really does, it'll surely make Google Hangouts irrelevant.
