Facebook Opens To Real-Money Gambling In Britain

Internet has taken over a lot of things, but here's an amusing way of losing your money, Gamble on Facebook! Facebook has opened its doors to gambling applications for users of 18 years age and above in United Kingdom, which bet real money. Bingo Friendzy is already Facebook's first ever gambling application that allows users to blow their money on bingo and slot machine games, instead of good old Facebook credits.

The game is offered by Gamesys, a British company that owns U.K.’s largest bingo and slots website. Though the application is not directly operated by Facebook yet, it has been reported to be a testing ground for the social networking giant to determine if the real-money gambling can become a fruitful source of revenue in the future.

Real-money gambling is deemed to be popular in the United Kingdom, and according to a Facebook spokesperson, the social network is only offering a platform for adults to play in a safe and controlled manner. In order to play, the users have to vouch for their age, identity and that they are located in Britain. Facebook has also blocked all the activity in the application from appearing on the news feed of users below the age of 18.
