Erasing CD with HV - Real or Fake?

    I dont think its possible. According to video after applying HV i could see only the polycarbonate plastic or *the only plastic. I think its a bad idea !

    Definitely looks fake to me..

    CD is an optical medium, and technically, high voltage should have no effect on it. Usually UV light is used to erase and also write into the CD.
    So, if this were to be true, along with the voltage arc from the transformer, there should also be some high energy UV rays coming out, and they erased the CD. That's the only hypothesis I could come up with..
    But it doesn't seem too plausible..
