2. Description:Students of ITGGV are organizing a National level TechFest this year named EQUILIBRIO 2K14 which is to be held from 22nd Jan. – 24th Jan.2014. containing more than 40 Technical events with 10+ cultural event having many talks, workshops, and many more.

Venue: Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Koni, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh (INDIA)

Description: Students of ITGGV are organizing a National level TechFest this year named EQUILIBRIO 2K14 which is to be held from 22nd Jan. – 24th Jan.2014. containing more than 40 Technical events with 10+ cultural event having many talks, workshops, and many more.


Sub-Events –

1. TECHNICAL EVENTS:

· INERTIA:

Ø FIZZ-Craft (PET bottle Rocket):

In this Event, the students have to launch the rocket made of PET bottle with the help of launching pad by means of thrust developed by Compressed Air and Water only. The winner will selected on the basis of maximum distance covered by their rocket along with attaining a specified height. Basically, it’s the Design of rocket that will make the difference.


Ø Golak Yaan (balloon car):

In this Event the students are supposed to make a car which can run by means of trust produced by air released from balloon fixed at the back of the car. The winner will be decided on the basis of maximum distance covered by the car without moving outside the given boundary.


Ø GREASE MONKEY-The workshop Wars

This event aims at checking the creativity of the students. In first round, there will be a simple multiple choice Aptitude test. In second round, each team would be given a machine and they have to write about that machine. In final round, teams would have to make a working model from the scrap materials provided to them.


Ø CHUTE-THE-CHUTE (roller coaster)

In this event, the students would have make the paper roller coaster which can sustain the marble in it for maximum time from the chart papers provided to them. Maximum 10 papers would be given. The ratio of Time up to which the marble remain in the Roller Coaster to the Height of Roller Coaster is the Judging criteria. The higher is the ratio, more there is chance to win.


Ø Dare To Know:

This event basically check out the grasping power along with the knowledge and creativity of the students. In first round of this event, there will be seminars and tutorials introducing the basics of REVERSE ENGINEERING, NANO-TECHNOLOGY, etc. (No elimination of candidates would be there.

In second round, students would have to assemble the dismantled the model based on the technologies told in the seminars.

In third round, again the assembling of models would be done by the students.

In final round, Quiz would be conducted based on previous rounds concepts.



· MECHATRON:

Here, Robots designed by the students will have to perform tasks on the instruction of their designer. The robot designed by the students will be manually controlled that is controlled by the remote.


Ø VAYU TARINI (RC air boat)

In this event, the students will make boat which will propel itself in water with the help of thrust developed by the air. The boat would be controlled by the radio waves emitted by Remote.


Ø FATAL KICK-OFF (RoboSoccer + RoboWar)

Here, the students will play shaolin soccer with the help of robot made by them. There will be two robots, one will be defender and other will be striker. The defender is allowed to damage or harm the other team robots by any means. The team having maximum Goal points will be winner.


Ø LAND ROVER

In this Event the students will make an all-terrain bot which will be able to face and get over from all the hurdles coming in path. The hurdles can be in any form like elevation, depression, uneven area, turnings, etc.



· AUTONOMOUS ASSAULT

In this section, the students would be able to make the robots which perform all the tasks properly without any manual instructions. There will be automatic sensors fixed in them which can detect the problem and automatically solve it.


Ø SNAKOBOT

In this event, the students will be making a robot that can play actual snake Games in the arena provided there. The robot should be able to turn automatically at required time and will have to traverse the whole arena at minimum time.


Ø MINECRAFT BOT

In this event, the students will make the robot which would be able to travel the path indicated by the white line having the black back ground looking somewhat like a grid.

The robot would also have to glow the Led when reaches at white nod and would have to quickly change its path when reaches at the white node.


Ø EXTRICATE CYBORG

In this Event the robot made by the students will be able travel the whole arena to spectate the location of Uncle Scrooge (in form of white block) and to rescue the same.


· SANRACHNA

This category is dedicated to constructional talent. Sanrachna is all about designing structures which can withstand the test of time.


Ø SETU SRIJAN (Bridge Construction)

In this Event, the students will make a bridge across an imaginary river with the help of Popsicle sticks having many trusses with in a time limit of 3 hrs. The bridge also should be able to withstand the maximum load.


Ø HYDRAULIC CRANE

This Event involves the construction of a crane which can lift weights up to a safe height and place it safely across a boundary, using only hydraulic power.


Ø NIRMAAN (Arch Construction)

In this Event an iron arch would be provided. The students will make an arch of same dimensions with the help of Bricks, cement and concrete. Then the iron arch would be removed and load is applied. The arch which can bear the maximum load is preferred.


· CYBERNATE

In this event, basically the programming skills of the students is checked. The students will either have to find error in program along with correcting it or to develop the entire Web, Apps, etc. Sufficient equal time would be provided to each team.


Ø CODE X MASTERS

This event basically check the BASIC Programming Skill of the Students. Students may have to solve many MCQ type Questions and with developing a program to do a specific Task.


Ø LEE-WEB-SCRIPTY (Web Development)

Lee-Web-Scripty is a tribute to Tim Bernes-Lee, the creator of the World Wide Web. In this event, the student will design a Web which will satisfy all the criteria of a modern and fastest Service provider. The winner will be decided by the Experts in it.


Ø TORVALD’S HOUSE (Linux)

The events test practical knowledge of Linux and its tools, open source technologies, different aspects of networking like TCP\IP, http, ftp, cryptography and others. This event checks the awareness of system and network security in a wireless environment. The students have to develop a program that can be efficient to prevent the Multinational Companies from Hackers.


Ø WINDOWS WORLD

In this Event, the students will develop Window based Apps which can serve user many facilities and make their live comfortable. The must be friendly enough to be used by everyone.


· VOLTRONIX

Ø MICROTEST

In this Event, the knowledge of Embedded is checked. Here, the participants will give a written test in first round and after that they will have to perform a specified task which they’ll get on the spot.


Ø VIDYUT-E-KARAN

An event to test one’s circuit designing skills. The participants are expected to either design circuits based on a given problem statement or will have to complete the given incomplete circuit.


· ALCHEMIST:

Ø CHEM-E-CAR

In this event, the participants are supposed to design a car that will move forward with the help of any non-explosive chemical reaction. The winner will be decided on the basis of maximum load carried by the car.


Ø HEAT EXCHANGERS

This event aims at designing a Heat Exchanger with minimum cost and maximum efficiency. The heat exchanger must be able to extract maximum heat from the hot water.


· DESIGN-ER.

This category aims at designing a structure with help of Software which are widely used now a days.


Ø PORTRAYAL

It is a simple Mechanical based design of a machine element. It will involve 2D and 3D modelling using AUTOCAD, CATIA and PRO-E followed by analysis and optimization.


Ø CONCEPTION

This is a very important event for civil students. This event involves the designing of a structure with the help of STAAD Pro.


· PRESENTATION

This category aims at checking and developing the presentation skills in students which is a very important part of one’s personality.


Ø POSTER PLETHORA

This event involves pictorial representation of one’s thoughts in the most effective way possible. The key behind the event is to get the ideas of participants across to the audience in most effective way.


Ø PAPER PRASTUTI

In this event, the students are supposed to present their ideas with the help of slides.


Ø MY VISION-GGV 2030

This event is designed to explore the future of our university. What is your idea regarding GGV in the year 2030? All ideas and suggestions are welcome.


· QUIZ VILLA

The name itself is enough. Quizzes are THE most sensational competitions one comes across. This category belongs to quizzes of all disciplines.


Ø INCROYABLE INDIA

This quiz is specifically designed to test our knowledge about our motherland INDIA.


Ø INQUIZITORS

This quiz is designed to crown those champions who have the capability to conquer the world with their intelligence. The questions asked will be purely general.


Ø SPORTS QUIZ

This quiz brings the sports arena into perspective.


Ø VIGYAAN

This quiz checks one’s general scientific knowledge.

2. MANAGEMENT EVENTS

These events aims at checking one’s skills in the field of management. Here the, many management qualities of student such as leadership quality, planning, etc. is checked.


· B PLAN

This event checks the business planning of the participants. The students having better business knowledge, ideas, planning and management skills will be the winner.


· PIONEERS

This event checks the Leadership quality of the participants. Here, the students will be judged by an aptitude test, Group Discussion, a personal interview and an extempore.


· REIGNITE

This event is targeted solely at reviving what is lost; reignite is all about bringing an under-performing market brand back to life. An event involving heavy strategy, it will surely put one’s marketing skills to the test. Here basically, participants would have to find out the reason of failure of a product in market and then after they have to re-launch the product with some additional features to make the product successful.


· VIRTUAL MONEY

This event test the money management skill of a person; in virtual way. The participant having strong strategy and planning with having maximum profit will be the winner.


3. WORKSHOPS- A 360o horizon


· Voice Controlled Robot

Students will learn Speech Processing and wireless communication. This would be a Human Voice activated Robot which would depend on the logical programming of Microcontrollers and Speech processing Tools.

DAY-1

1. Introduction to embedded system and robotics-1 hr.

2. Programming for LED interfacings with Microcontrollers.-1 hr.

3. Motor interfacing-different drive mechanism of robot-1hr

4. Serial communication-USART, interfacing microcontroller with PC-3hr

5. Bluetooth technology-interfacing Bluetooth with microcontroller, Transmitting & receiving data Wirelessly between PC and robot.-1hr

DAY-2

1. Introduction to speech progessing, VOIP, Visual express 2010, different tools of C#. C# programming with .net framework Introduction Introduction of tool in C#.-2hr

2. Serial communication with robot, speech recognition-2hr

3. Checking internet connection and the Skype account availability. USE of internet for making VoIP environment.-3hr




· Ethical Hacking

The Cyber world is always prone to security failures. Ethical hacking is the best solution to this problem. The students are invited to explore the world of cyber security in a completely new perspective through this workshop on ethical hacking.
