Engineering Project Idea: Innovative Mobile Thief Catcher

An idea struck my mind which could be a great final year project idea 😁 . The idea is to develop a mobile app, preferably on Java for larger compatibility and coverage, that will help in tracking the exact location of the phone as well as capture the photographs of the thieves.

1. For mobiles with front facing camera - the app upon remote activation should secretly capture the photo from the front facing camera when the keys are being pressed. After clicking the photos, it should send them across to a preset number along with the geo-location.

2. For the mobiles with rear facing camera - the app should record videos when the phone is in use and also capture photographs when the mobile is being used. It should then send the videos/photos along with GPS coordinates to a pre-determined number.

I believe it will make it easier to track the phone and also find out who stole the phone. Now let's expand this idea and tell us what can be added to this app to make it more useful and effective.
