Engineering project idea for paralytic people

I read this article(#-Link-Snipped-#) and came up with the idea to replace microcontroller display to some other wireless communication medium like wifi,zigbee.. pls tell me is this idea is possible? Or suggest me some other project ideas which helps disabled peoples.
