If you are any European engineer and want to work abroad within the continent, presently the process is very tedious. It is because many documents are to be verified before you can even talk to a prospective firm. More over an anomaly is also spotted in the verification process that a competent authority has to go through all the process. It is not always possible that the authority is competent enough. As in some countries such applications are processed by institutions like Department of Justice and not competent technical institutes of the respective streams.
Earlier there were talks about common international standards for hiring professionals across Europe so that the companies could be benefited by the free flow of working force. The efforts were christened #-Link-Snipped-#. The directives are the guiding force to judge two professional of the same industry but of different nationality. The card which helps these discussions is of the shape of a European Union driving license and is designed and developed by European #-Link-Snipped-#. The organization has studied the requirements of the common base for all the applicants.
#-Link-Snipped-# is nothing but a digital documentation of all the certifications and academic achievements of an individual that will be useful to him in his career. Moreover information like that of experience will also be entered as a part of his qualifications. The said EngineeING card will be completely based on European Qualifications Framework and Home - ENAEE. The card can be voluntarily obtained and will have 10 yeas validity.
Although, there are no directives from the EU about who will issue these professional cards but at the end of the day, either it will be FEANI itself or the educational institutions of the respective countries. The EngineerING card is sought to be popular in the continent and all the 27 countries are touted to follow suit. Today Germany and Netherlands have shown interest. It is expected that the card will be used Europe wide starting next year. It is only natural that if the process is going to be hassle free then there is no hindrance in applying it, anyway.
