Electric Bicycle Enters The Market With Grace

Grace is all set to launch its new electric bike GRACE in the market for purchase with grace. With this revolutionary step taken, grace has transgressed into the field of engineering, design and technology. Two years back from now in 2009, the design of the bike was not so appealing. Since then, thorough study and analysis of the ergonomics has facilitated a thoroughly refined design. The frame of the bicycle has also been redesigned. In spite of undergoing noticeable changes with time, the projector head lamps are being held intact in the aluminium housing in the front.

This model provided with an integrated Li- ion battery charges in an hour or so and in turn causes a hub mounted motor on the rear wheel to spin which speeds up your cycle to a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour. It is a pack of 8 cells connected in parallel combination. With the optimized operating conditions nearly 1000 charging cycles can be obtained. The motors mounted on the rear wheel are shielded by the two CNC machined covers thus ensuring protection and reliability. The maintenance cost incurred is also low as no issue of oil change and the motors are directly coupled with the wheel. This increases the efficiency of the system as the power transmission losses are reduced as a result of the direct coupling.

There will a small computer system mounted on the handle which provides the information at your disposal. This computer is controlled by the 2 anodized aluminium switches on the head. The computer keeps us updated with the speed of the cycle, amount of energy currently being used by the system and also keeps you informed about the charge level of the batteries. The display offers a green background with black lettering. The price cited for the GRACE is $6000 which I feel is pretty justified looking at the above mentioned features. It surely must have been designed by a perfectionist.

The cycle is a custom made product and will be designed to suit your style, size and taste completely. It would be better to keep this option open to bolster their price tag because ultimately what matters is the customers enjoying the feeling of “consumer surplus” especially when they  shell out thousands of bucks surplus. The frame is scratch resistant, light weight and hard. Even if the cycle has been redesigned, the aesthetic sense is also taken care of. This fabulous bike has been invented and designed by Mikel Hecken. The cycle was made public on 19th may 2011 and the launching event was hosted at the Collectors Room in Berlin.
