If anyone machine on the surface/edge of an Indian Standard Iron Angle, what will be the effect on its strength?

    What is the tensile strength/compressive strength of ISA 50 X 50 X 50,having 01 met length.

    ISA 50 X 50 X 50
There is no such animal. It is not possible to have an equal angle 50mm x 50 mm and a thickness of 50 mm. Strength properties are inherent to the material and not dependent on geometry. They would depend on the manufacturing history where work hardening is involved. Any standard text or net resource will give the data.

    Sir,

The actual size of the ISA is 50 x 50 x 6 mm.By mistake it has been typed as 50 x 50 x 50.If any body cut a slot within the ISA cross section or drill a hole,is the strength of the said ISA decreases? Please help me , Sir.

The strength of steel does not change. But at the cross section where there is a slot or hole, the area of the channel gets reduced. To that extent there will be a proportional decrease in strength.
