There are tens of different kinds of energy sources. But nothing quite like this one. We have a robot here powered by human poo. Yes, you got that right - actual human waste as the power generator. Scientists from the Bristol Robotics Laboratory have developed a new robot called the 'EcoBot III' that drives the energy from the sewage at Saltford Sewage Treatment Works using microbial fuel cells. The robot, they say, can perform the onboard operations without any aid. This unusual electricity-from-waste robot was built over a period of three years. And you could easily mistake it for a geek's three-tiered wedding cake that has layers full of microbial cells, catchment trays, and a fly trapping hat linked to an artificial stomach.

This one-of-a-kind robot is perfect for accessing remote areas where power supply is a problem. So Ecobot III can just utilize the organic matter in its vicinity and have a prolonged stay. Also, it will obviously help enormously in waste-water treatment. Autonomous bots with such cool features, you just got to see the following video and watch Ecobot III in action. Check -
