eBay Now iOS App Brings 'Same Day Delivery' To San Francisco Invitees

eBay has launched beta version of its iOS app called 'eBay Now' which allows you to receive the order from local stores on the same day. People in San Francisco were sent an email by eBay, inviting them to use the app under test. The release is accessible only by the invited people, who in turn can invite three more to try the test release. eBay doesn't obviously provide any of these services for free. The 'same day delivery' scheme is valid only on a minimum purchase worth $25. Additionally, the customer is levied an extra charge of $5 for the express delivery. But, the benefits are no less. The beta testers receive a waver of $15 for their first order on eBay Now, plus shipping for the first three orders is not charged.

eBay is now giving a head on to Amazon, which came up with the idea of same day delivery in 2009. Though the idea of giving $5 for home delivery from a local store seems unlikely to work, but it may turn out to be a good deal in case of emergency as the order is usually delivered within an hour. After all, customers always have an option to choose ordinary shipping.
