  • The official version of BBM from BlackBerry is now here for Android as well as the iPhone. With the company rolling out the download links on Google Play Store and iTunes Store, iOS and Android users are rushing to get their copy of the app today. As we all know, unlike Whatsapp BBM uses PINs instead of phone numbers or email addresses so that it's more private, and you always control who can contact you. You can also choose your contacts i.e. 2-way opt-in facility which means you have control over who is able to message you. Just like other messaging services, Blackberry Messenger features ability to create croups, engage in multi-person chats and broadcast messages to all your contacts.

Just like on a traditional Blackberry, with BBM app on Android and iPhone you can create your own BBM profile - Post a profile picture, Update your status etc. The availability of this app has come almost a month after it was originally released. The launch which was slated to happend on September 21 and September 22 was halted due to a leaked BBM apk file just hours before the official launch. Now, Blackberry has made it clear that BBM will be made available to people on a first-come-first-serve basis. To implement this, BlackBerry has put in place a simple line-up system to ensure a smooth roll-out. BBM head Andrew Bocking on its official blog said that, "This is the news you've been waiting for! I am thrilled to tell you that we are about to officially resume our rollout of BBM for Android and iPhone customers around the globe!"

He further said "The demand for BBM on Android and BBM on iPhone continues to be amazing. About six million people signed up for information about BBM at BBM.com. As you know, in just seven hours, about one million Android users were using the unreleased version of BBM for Android. What you don't know is that more than one million people have found creative ways to "side load" BBM on their iPhone. This is incredible."

So, how do you got about downloading BBM? The easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser. Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line. Blackberry will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM. The download link for Android is #-Link-Snipped-# and for iOS is #-Link-Snipped-#. Let us know your review for the BBM app on Android as well as iPhone soon.
