In the optical lab we use power sources like Klystron, gunn diode, etc.these devices generate sinusoidal wave. but when we observe it in a cro we get a square wave why?

There must be certain intermediate stage in between klystron & your evaluation point. The klystron itself provides a ultra high frequency sine wave. If you evaluate the output of klystron, it'll be a sine wave.
