just think about definition of point . point which no have any length width and volume.but actually can u say it no have volume.?gautami shettyokay. Nw an atom has its radius...
So it has volume otherwise its density would be infinite..
Now volume is the total space occupied bt atom is mostly empty
So what is an atom's true volume..?
Is it diff theoretically and experimentally??
atom is the combination of proton ,electron and neutron. we can assume it's volume is mostly negligible but we can't say it no have volume.
so it is hypothetical.we have just taken assumption. -

but it has to have a volume just wondering how to measure it without volume what would be its density? -

The distance from the centre of the nucleus to the outermost electron is the radius of an atom. Density is the bulk property of matter not that of one single atom.
Depending on the state (Solid, liquid or gas) and temperature the number of atoms in a given volume varies.
Atoms tend to form bonds such as metallic, covalent or ionic. This also alters the radius of the atom.
This article will clear the air a bit:

thats a quite deep topic. can be an intresting affair discussing it 😀
