By user oriented I mean a product that is people can and should use daily. Along with all the service oriented work we do, don't we have enough talent to build products like Facebook; Google etc. ??

Or are we all soo much behind getting a job that creative thinking has no chance in our lives ??

Yes - Tally, one of the 'Made In India' software product that has really made it big among the trading community in India. There aren't any true 'global' products yet.

Talent does exist, but there aren't companies that are willing to work on global products. The scene is of course changing, but the 'move' is rather slow. There are a ton of things responsible for growth of online products (call them services, if you want) - and it's a whole ecosystem that's responsible.

The services oriented business is responsible to a larger extent as well. The devalued rupee (thanks to globalisation, Mr. Man Mohan Singh) has made it lucrative to open a 'services' business, get brick-laying projects from other countries and become a back-office for the world.

That scene is changing though and if things move in the right direction, the world will experience world-class products from India - in the online space, at least.
Are you sure? This action cannot be undone.
