Just in time for this fall, famous drone maker DJI has launched a new drone called the Mavic Pro that is more compact and powerful than ever. The DJI Mavic Pro is a drone whose wings can be folded so that it fits easily inside a backpack or a small suitcase. The DJI Mavic Pro costs $999 with the controller and $749 without the controller just like its main competitor GoPro Karma. The DJI Mavic Pro is laced with FlightAutonomy which gives the Mavic the capability to avoid obstacles up to 49ft (15m) away and hover precisely with the help of 5 cameras, GPS, GLONASS, 2 ultrasonic range finders, redundant sensors and 24 cores of computing. This means if the drone loses satellite positioning it can hover without human input.

When it comes to the most important thing on the DJI Mavic Pro, the cameras, we have a 4K resolution camera that shoots at 30 frames per second. The DJI Mavic Pro can shoot still photos at resolution of 12MP with support for Adobe DNG RAW. The DJI Mavic Pro can fly for up to 27 minutes. When you need performance in Sport Mode it can fly at 40mph or 65kmph. With the new OcuSync transmission technology the DJI Mavic Pro has a range of 4.3mi (7km) and Full HD 1080p video streaming for your Periscope or Facebook Live streams.

If you are a little into yourself you can use it to shoot it for selfies with the help of ActiveTrack and Gesture Mode where the DJI Mavic Pro can be trained to follow a person. If you are using your smartphone as a controller you can ask the drone to fly to a particular position with the help of TapFly feature. When the TapFly mode is enabled the DJI Mavic Pro can avoid obstacles by itself. With all these above features the DJI Mavic Pro could give some serious competition to the GoPro Karma.
