  • DISTANCE BETWEEN TWO EARTH PITS?

What Should be the distance between two electrical earth pits as per standards?

    Answer:

The distance between two earthing pits or grounding pits can vary depending on several factors such as the size of the equipment being grounded, soil resistivity, and local regulations. However, a commonly used rule of thumb is that the distance between two earth pits should be at least twice the depth of the pits.

For instance, if each pit is 3 meters deep, then the pits should be at least 6 meters apart from each other. This is because the sphere of influence of each pit in the ground should not overlap with the other, ensuring that each has its own independent earthing capacity.

It's also important to note that different countries may have different electrical installation standards which can specify a different minimum distance. It is always advisable to check with the local standards or with a qualified electrician or electrical engineer.

The minimum distance between two electrical earth pits must be atleast twice the length of the earth electrode you are using in your place

This is the standard and the distance can be increased to a certain extent as per need
Are you sure? This action cannot be undone.
