It will cost a bomb for automobile applications. Molecular sieves can selectively absorb nitrogen and allow nearly pure Oxygen to go through. You may need a plant producing about 6 cu.mtr. oxygen/hr for a small car. The plant with associated hardware will be expensive, bulky and heavy. Regeneration of the molecular sieve online will require either electric power or heat from fuel.
In my opinion a non-starter.

nice question and a innovative idea but as Ramani sir said, the feasiblity of producing o2 will be a doubt and more expensive. No one ever wanted to spend huge money for the o2 separation alone. But if you come up with a cheap abd best method to separate O2 from air,you can reach great heights and it will becone the best option available for present automobile scenario. All the best for your project. -

Hydrogen fuel cells need more Hydrogen and storing hydrogen gas is dangerous and not easyTauqeer Ahamedwhat about using the technique of hydrogen fuel cell?????????
We need more Hydrogen for this process as Hydrogen required for a mole of Oxygen is twice. So we are not going to have that any time soon.
PS: Who wants to repeat the Zeppelin accident again now
