Difference Between BCA/MCA Course & Computer Engineering

I have heard frequent discussions about the differences between BCA-MCA Course & Computer Engineering i.e. B.E. / B.Tech course.

I think there is not much of a difference between the subjects taught to either of them. A lot of engineers are seen complaining that BCA/MCA students shouldn't be treated the same as Engineering Course students. I don't get their point.

What do you guys think?
