Project Abstract / Summary : Aluminium-Copper–Magnesium alloys were known for their high strength and stiffness. In this study, effect of copper content on the mechanical properties of Al-Cu (binary) alloys and effect of Copper and Magnesium contents on the mechanical properties of Al-Cu-Mg (ternary) alloys has been investigated. Al-Cu-Mg alloys with 10%,20% Cu and 10%, 20% Mg were utilized for this purpose. The experimental work can be divided in two phases, the first phase consists of melting and casting of samples in grey cast iron permanent metal moulds with different compositions in the aluminium-copper-magnesium systems covering the region of standard, but also higher copper and magnesium contents.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : NOW A DAYS REQUIREMENT OF BETTER MATERIAL IS INCREASED. WE DOING SOME NEW MATERIAL IF WE CAN SUCCESS IN THIS IT WOULD HELP IN AVIATION AND LOT OF WORKS. WE ARE TRYING TO INCREASE THE STRENGTH OF THE ALUMINIUM.
