Crutches Finally Get A Much Needed Makeover With M+D Crutches
Modern crutches have been with us since the 1900s. A century has gone by and not much has changed in the design of the crutches that are used temporarily or permanently by people across the world. Using crutches is often painful as the entire weight is focused on your armpits. Things are about to change with the M+D Crutches. A Missouri based company called Mobility Designed has developed these crutches that are much more easy to use and comfortable than their current counterparts.
The M+D Crutches have been designed keeping in mind the comfort of its users. The company started things off by redesigning the way how you held your clutches. The focus was on elbows. There are two flexible armbands that encase the userâs arm. These armbands can be repositioned anywhere without the use of any tools so that you can use the crutches in hands free mode. The hands free mode works in the following manner, you press a button on the hand grip that unlocks it from its current position and you can adjust your arm length to keep your hands free for work. This is a major advantage for crutch users who want to keep their hands free for work in the home and kitchen. There is also a sliding button under the arm cradle that unlocks the cradle allowing users to lift their arms even while wearing crutches.
One of the other interesting features of M+D Crutches is the interchangeable feet. The feet of the crutches can be changed depending upon the terrain. The standard foot has been designed to absorb shocks of each step and prevent slipping of the person. The M+D crutches are currently in the prototype stage and will be soon put into production.
