Project Abstract / Summary : Crop Cutting and Knotting Machine
There is lot of time consuming process in farming is to cut and collect the crop so to solve this time consuming problem we are thinking to construct a machine which reduces both cutting and binding time. According to survey for gathering and bundling of crop using sickle it requires 100-200 labors hours per acre, and it also causes loss of grains so to reduce all of this We are constructing crop cutting and knotting machine for rice and wheat crops mainly, In this machine prime mover is electric motor, and by using reciprocating cutter and for knotting we are using spherical slide oscillator drive mechanism.
This machine mainly reduces labor hour upto 12-15 hours By using harvester this work also be done but it is not affordable to the poor farmers this machine only costs Rs 25000. it covers two rows at a time so works effectively . This machine is user friendly & can be driven by single man only.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : We just observe the problems faced by the ordinary farmer for cutting and knotting operation of crop. They cant afford the big machine like harvesters. Also they need more labour hours for doing such works. So we try to reduce all such things including costs. In future this machine can develope in large scale for more easy and cheap operations.
