    Flipkart-styled Resume

    This guy wanted to apply for an Assistant Product Manager position at Flipkart, one of India's leading e-commerce site. The way he designed his resume is pretty amazing. He sort of 'put himself up on the site for grabs', and though I'm not sure whether anyone 'bought him', but many did buy the uniqueness of his idea.

    Interesting discussion. Let's all share more ideas. I recently came across an article that shared how Eric Gandhi landed a job at Google. Here's what he did to impress the Google engineers - he created a resume in the format of a Google search results page.

    He used this resume for a designer position on Google’s Website.
    Within 30 minutes of applying, he got a call for an interview and was offered a Marketing position in the end.

    The Flipkart Resume idea ain't very new. People have been using the trick to seek the attention of the recruiters. Here's one for Facebook -

    Just came to know that the guy who made the Flipkart resume to get the attention of mega online retailer; got rejected by Flipkart's HR department. The exact reasons for the rejection aren't known; but there could be several ones -
    • Rs. 2L+ monthly salary for the position was just too much for Flipkart
    • The CGPA 6+ wasn't just enough for Flipkart to consider his profile
    • Flipkart might have thought that hiring Aakash Neeraj Mittal would set a wrong example among potential employees.
    Good attempt, though. All the best to Aakash.

    Elon Musk's resume. Though not exactly creative, organising all the details in a single page is something we all can learn. Plus he has like 3 CEO positions to throw for extra curriculars, so there's that.
