CE has various types of technical, non-technical quizes, puzzles. Till now we do not have sports quiz on CE. As Biggi asked, someone should start a sports quiz on CE, I am doing the same. Looking for an active participation from fella CEan's in posting new questions as well as answers. Please refrain yourself from doing googling, I know googling is the easiest way to answer any question. However it would be fun answering the questions without searching them on web. On demand of CEan - ASH starting the thread with questions on Basketball.

Ans 1: The baskets were made of Peach. They were not hollow from the bottom and the ball had to be retrieved every time someone scored.
Metal hoops and nets were introduced in 1906

Ans 2: 21 December 1891 (He was not asked to invent one)

@Ash: No, 'Hack a Shaq' is a different technique used by the opposition to counter Shaq.

Right Patty boy!!! You explained the 'Hack a Shaq' in the right manner.

Yeah, thats true. I thought you meant Hack a Shaq.. since its a more popular (and generic) term compared to Shaq Attack. For those who don't know, Shaq sucks at free throws.. so instead of letting him score a field goal, you just foul him *grin* Too bad you can't do that to Yao!

7). False. Ball being alive includes but not limited to throw ins and free throws. Clock stops during these periods 😀
