Centralized cooking fuel monitoring and security system using PLC and SCADA

Project Abstract / Summary : The aim of the project is to enhance the efficiency of cooking fuel utility in the domestic field, in a secured way. It aims at monitoring and controlling the cooking fuel (i.e. LPG) in places such as a massive hotel or luxury apartments in order to reduce wastage and downfall in the availability.
In Urban areas, people amidst there tight schedule finds it difficult to maintain the record of fuel consumed and may fail to note the refilling time. As for the current system in India, the government has centralized the cooking fuel distribution with a subsidy plan to support the poor. Henceforth a common man will have to book the cylinders and wait for its arrival; thereby we observe delay in the service for a short span of time. In 2000, the census reported that 40% of the household use LPG as their primary source of energy. In the next 10 years this shot up by 26.6% .As of now it is 70%, this drastic increase might lead to depletion of the fuel in the near future. Thus it is an inevitable duty to use the available fuel judiciously.
Our project signifies a system though which these day-to-day problems can be solved. It is designed to monitor the daily usage of the cooking fuel per house basis and predict its refilling date automatically. This also provides quantitative measure, based on which unnecessary wastages can be avoided. The system is linked up with a GSM technology for regular notifications.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : LPG is one of the primary utilities which every citizens depend on. There are few problems which we face in current system of LPG distribution.
Our system is developed and built in order to provide ease and systematic usage of LPG.

Project Highlights : The main objective of our project is to eradicate black marketing of cylinders. This helps the country to grow economically. Security and monitoring of all the cylinders with records can be maintained digitally.
