Casio’s Paper Writer Android Tablet Won't Make You Hate Touch Screens
When the age of computers began, the popular belief among general public was that the computers would get rid of paper. Apparently, that didn't happen. People still love using pen and paper. Appealing to exactly these kind of customers, Casio Computer Co., Ltd has come up with tablet called as “Paper Writer†that removes the hassle of using touch screen to note down information. The USP of this tablet is that it can convert handwriting on paper into digital data. The 5MP front camera takes picture of the page automatically with every turn and the inbuilt software stores the data in digital format after checking for distortions. Moreover, tags are simultaneously created for easy access of information.

In terms of technical specifications, this Android 4.0 device has a OMAP4460 dual-core processor clocking at 1.5 GHz, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory and supports SD and microSD cards. The 10.1 inch LED backlit LCD touch screen has a resolution of 1280*800 pixels, supports 6 multi touch points and pen input. Security in this device has been achieved by Secure Access Module slot. For connectivity it boasts of Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wireless LAN, USB and mini USB slots, mini HDMI slot and LTE. Targeted towards corporate customers, this device promises to be tough as it can withstand falls up to 1.0 meters and is dust and splash proof. It sports a rear 5MP camera which can shoot still photos and record videos.
The company has come up with 4 models V-N500-WJ, V-T500-WJ and V-T500-J out of which V-N500-WJ and V-N500-J make use of the front camera as a document reader. The prices of these tablets are not known but a September release has been confirmed.
