Ah! debate since ages is taking reality form.
here comes the fact.

An BOT of University of Aberystwyth named ADAM can think and make descisions and the stunner part here is, it can propose a hypothesis and then prove it with it's own test results! HOWZZAT!

The BOT has come up with a hypothetsis about a unknown gene in the baker's yeast and then performed tests ( mind you, no HUMAN INTERVENTION) to make a FIRST MACHINE DISCOVERY!!

It had well proposed hypothesis about how few other unknown genes could look and work!!

UNI guys are expecting they would soon see a enviornment where HUMANS and BOT would live in peace and work in HRAMONY!!!

any thoughts??!! where this small spark can head???

well i hope we dont have to face situations as shown in Terminator or I-robot or Matrix, but i feel machine intelligence should have limitations as they rae emoting human behaviors possibilities are they will harm us too

I wouldn't mind having intelligent robot as assistants. Tony Stark didnt have any issues.

this part where robots propose solutions to tricky situations and problems comes under expert system of AI. stanford designed one of the first expert system named mycin. based on the symptoms of a person it could tell you the disease. its success rate was 69% and the best doctor's success rate is about 65%.
another expert system called prospector finds areas on earth where a certain element can be found based on the environmental conditions. it predicted molybdenum in certain areas where experts said there could be no molybdenum at all. so the digging started and molybdenum was unearthed in huge amounts.
