Bitly's RealTime Attention Ranking Engine Is Different Than Twitter Trends
Bit.ly, the famous URL shortening service has launched a private beta of its project called 'RealTime' or Rt.ly. It is what they call the 'attention ranking' search engine. What it does is essentially the gathering of all the shortened links from Bit.ly users from all over the word and show the results about how many people are clicking on a link in real time. You get options to filter your search results by keyword, topic, country or language. It also lets you search across any social network or website of your choice. Aptly called the 'attention ranking engine', Rt.ly truly gets you to what the world is actually reading about.

Twitter's trending topics let us see what people are commenting on a story, whereas Rt.ly seeks the actual link being shared the most. The Rt.ly interface has a lets you scroll through stream of attention stories, and calculates the ranking at the moment with clicks per minute. We would love to have a mobile app for this and are looking forward to the service becoming popular so as to get more relevant results. You can check in at rt.ly and apply for an invite now.
