has any one heard of a vehicle running in benzene?

    Benzene is implicated as a carcinogen. Best avoided.

    But does not the regular petrol which we use, contain a small percentage of benzene ? isn't that what gives petrol its aroma? (benzene being an aromatic hydrocarbon)

    Most hydrocarbons do have a smell. Also the levels of emission with pure benzene as fuel will be much higher.
