At TEDxOjai Behrokh Khoshnevis, a professor of engineering at USC, talked about the Center for Rapid Automated Fabrication Technologies or CRAFT that presents how we can build a custom-designed house in just a day - while reducing environmental impact and costs. Construction is a very risky business for the workers who toil day-in day-out in developing buildings from scratch. With automated systems for reinforcement or plumbing, we can let go off the injuries and hard-work involved and make beautiful shapes for buildings. Who doesn't hate rectangular-shaped buildings? We might achieve architectural benchmarks with 3D printing technology already in place.

He supports his statements by demonstration of a device actually pumping out a concrete wall with 10,000 PSI strength. This fellow has received support from NASA, who believe that this technology has huge potential in build landing pads or hangars or support walls. The question that quickly arises in each one's mind is - how many people will be put out of work if we automatize the entire industry? Well, he aptly answers it in his talk because that reason is no excuse for not seizing on this technology and all the opportunities it represents. Check the talk for yourself -
