Atrega Motors’ Electric Powered Sports Car: Atrega SE
In this period of time, where global warming is the result of pollution caused due to vehicles, we must think about the conserving the nature. For this various automobile brands are manufacturing electric powered cars. An addition to the section of Electric powered sports cars is ARTEGA SE. The Artega Motors, a german manufacturer of sports cars, unveiled its new sports car ARTEGA SE at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. It is due to go into production in the coming months. (SE = SPORTS ELECTRIC).

The ARTEGA SE is not only fuel independent car but also comes under the category of faster cars. It is capable of reaching a top speed of 155 MPH (250 KPH). It has two individual electric motors to power the rare wheels to push the car from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.3 seconds which makes it a sports car. It gives maximum range of 186 miles (300 km approx) after which it needs to be charged for 90 minutes. But the company claims that, under ‘normal driving conditions’, it can comfortably do 124 miles (200 km approx) without a charge.
ARTEGA SE is the electric version of the ARTEGA GT (which is the superlight sports car with its aluminum frame and carbon fiber body). The Artega GT features a 300 hp petrol powered Volkswagen V6 engine, whereas the electric version (SE) produces 380 hp through 16 lithium-ion battery packs. The amazing fact is that the Artega SE is faster than its petrol-powered brother. ARTEGA GT requires 5 seconds to get to 60 MPH from 0.
Artega SE is considered as the competitor of the America’s own TESLA ROADSTER. It gets to 60 MPH in just 3.9 seconds (which is lesser time than that of SE). But top speed of TESLA ROADSTER is 125 MPH whish is lesser than that of SE. So here it becomes difficult to tell which one is faster. Also the TESLA ROADSTER generates power of 248 hp which makes it inferior to Artega SE. But when the criterion of price comes into picture, we find that ARTEGA SE costs almost double than the TESLA ROADSTER. The Artega SE has a price of over $208,000 while the Tesla has a starting price of about $120,000.
This was just for the comparison between the two but these kinds of automobiles are order of the day which will reduce the consumption of conventional fuel and help protect our mother earth.
